@@MTB_Derbyshire I took the mudguard off my hardtail a couple of years ago at the start of a heatwave. Went out, rode through a dog poo. Mudguard went back on.

Some people will always flirt with it coz it looks cool I guess but for some people it's in the blood.... even though I'm not a great rider it's definitely part of me and finding ace trails brings joy even if some scare me 😂

Thanks Paul. Fun finding new trails (Strava is a massive help of course). These were amazing but a little frustrating in the conditions. Still that's Britain in 2024 I guess 😂

Really good stuff eh. The bit at 14.45 is a bit mad. I'd seen it on video and thought it looked ok but in the conditions and the mad roots it was a no from me. 😂. Cheers Rob.

Definitely worth a visit up that way. Whitby is ace for a few days sightseeing and chip eating. Fair few places around for riding too. Next vid is Dalby off piste some ace stuff there but frustratingly the conditions were tricky.

A perfect summary really that. So disappointed I didn't get to ride the other stuff. I had planned to ride another 5 or 6. I would have been totally cooked though. It's a steep bit of a hill that one. Definitely a great place to visit if you're up that way. Cheers Ant.

The amount of slop.was frustrating, also the fact it was bone dry in other parts, very inconsistent. Made it very difficult to get speed up. Certainly the trails there are really good though and I saw a fraction of what is on offer. 👍

The black trail escalated somewhat 🤣. So annoying the brake thing but ultimately thankfully it didn't cause any serious crash 😬

Definitely worth doing great views and some great if shirt descents. Obviously loads of climbing too 😞. Thumb is actually much better, thanks for asking. I'm still aware of it but perhaps this drier weather is helping. Also think the grips have made a big difference too. I'm now back on the Cotic see how that goes. Cheers

Oh it's not a Jason loop....that got a mention. Still plenty of highlights and as you say I think it makes for a great video not because of the trails themselves but because of the other stuff going on. It certainly suited my need for fitness and not battering the thumb too much. Plus don't forget Marc has a dicey wrist 🤣

Appreciate that. Thing is the challenge is always editing to a sensible time. I could leave loads more in but it would be about 25 minutes (that was after my first cut). It also keeps a pace to things and keeps the user engaged. I suppose it's why a few riders do full run videos.

Thanks Marc, great day! I love mixing things up a bit. Like I said, probably why I'm not a great rider.....never focus on one thing....do a bit of steep tech then doing a gravel route 🤣🤣🤣. Thing is i enjoy lots of different trails. It was a tough day physically. The climb up to Wormhill was certainly long and protracted. None of that made my cut just the run into Wormhill itself.

You know I like a leg stretcher 🤣....this was definitely stretching them. Made a really nice change from the usual stuff 👍

I edited out all of that part 😂. There's plenty of variations, but ultimately it's a lollipop route. Sometimes I go all the way to the main road and past the cafe before coming back sometimes I cut through North America sometimes I go up the recently resurfaced way and rejoin the cut gate path on Mickledon edge. All good as you say it's a great route 😎👍

@@twowheels4689 no....I park near the bridge then ride all along the three reservoirs. I agree it's a pain. You can park at the langsett end of course, then you can turn around once you reach Howden. As I live south side I always do it from Ladybower.

Hi Tom, thanks for the comment, it is definitely tricky to start with, that's why trail centres are popular I suppose. There's loads of information out there. Komoot is a great app that I use. You can use it to either plan your own routes or follow other riders and follow their routes. It gives you turn by turn instructions (gets annoying in a video 🤣) but that's really helpful if you're not sure. Also for apps Strava is good and not just about posting fastest times. Not found Trail forks to be any use tbh. Otherwise you can just search for MTB routes in the Peak District on the internet. There's loads out there. I've used pedalnorth routes in the past when visiting north Yorkshire. They give good honest descriptions. My final recommendation....old school stuff but invest in the Vertabrae publishing white and dark peak MTB guides. Hope this helps. PS you've reminded me to put the Komoot link in the description 👍
